.

Traditional Maori Pa

Pa Harakeke is an excellent location for a Traditional Maori Pa. It will be located on a small hill overlooking the Pa Harakeke plantation with views of Mount Pureora, Native Bush, Farmland and the Maraeroa C Pine plantation.

The Traditional Pa will be modelled on a traditional village setting incorporating, Wharepuni (Sleeping houses), Whare Tupuna (Ancestral Meeting Houses), Pataka (Food Storehouses), Hangi Pits (Cooking), Kumara Pits (Storage) among other things.

.

Eco-Cultural Walkway

An Eco-Cultural walkway will weave its way in and around Pa Harakeke taking visitors on a journey through Rereahu history. A series of carvings and monuments along the walkway with sign boards will provide visitors with an in depth look into who the Rereahu people are and the many stories of their ancestors.

The walkway will also include an explanation of the various native plants, flora and fauna along the walkway and what Maori used the plants for.

.

Campervan Park

A campervan park is also planned for Pa Harakeke to provide safe and comfortable parking facilities for Campervan travellers, with bathroom, eating and recreational facilities included in the overall complex. Power will be supplied to each Campervan site and shared Barbeque facilities will also be provided.

.

Café/Restaurant

A good quality Café/Restaurant is planned for Pa Harakeke and will feature local cuisine on the menu alongside traditional café food.

Visitors will enjoy the opportunity to sample our local cuisine whilst taking in the vista views from the café/restaurant

.

Chalet Accommodation

Chalet style accommodation will complete the Pa Harakeke Eco-Cultural Tourism facilities. This will allow visitors to stay on and treat themselves to all there is on offer at Pureora and Pa Harakeke.
